Giving back is part of the Vendi culture

We appreciate that we live in an area that has great quality of life. We also know it’s more than our location that makes it so. It’s the hard work of people and organizations who give their all to create communities that are strong, vibrant and welcoming.

Advertising and marketing are underfunded in most non-profits’ budgets, which is why we lend our expertise to a variety of organizations pro bono. We started doing it in 2004, the same year our agency got off the ground, and we created Vendi Share in 2013 as a way to formalize that commitment.

The organizations chosen for Vendi Share receive the same level of service as other clients on the roster. We form strategic partnerships and create and deliver meaningful messages so that the work of these valuable organizations can be recognized. Here are some of the organizations that we have served through Vendi Share.

Mississippi Valley Conservancy

We love where we live and work thanks in large part to the natural beauty and recreational opportunities that abound in the Driftless Area. So when a chance to help Mississippi Valley Conservancy promote its mission for its 20th anniversary presented itself, we were all in. We produced a video and magazine highlighting the work of the Conservancy in preserving and protecting land for future generations and designed and developed its new website. This fall, we were notified that the MVC video received a W3 silver award. The W3 awards are sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts and are open to creative agencies throughout the world.

Character Lives

A new curriculum based on the Character Strong model was launched in the Coulee Region with help from Vendi Share. The intent of the program is to teach students leadership and relationship building skills that will help improve the world around them. With cost-sharing, the Character Lives logo was developed, a landing page was created through which donations could be processed and a brochure and infographic were designed. Our work was recognized with a gold Davey award, a competition that recognizes work of small agencies worldwide.

Freedom Honor Flight

One of our most rewarding partnerships is with Freedom Honor Flight. Vendi helped organize the regional hub, which was the first in Wisconsin to make the trip to our nation’s capital. To date, nearly 2,000 area veterans have taken the Freedom Honor Flight. We developed the brand, website, brochure and marketing materials. Members of the Vendi team serve on the board, coordinate media coverage, document the trips with video and photography, volunteer on flight days and accompany veterans on the trip.

La Crosse Community Theatre

Heading the vibrant performing arts scene in the city, the La Crosse Community Theatre stages a variety of productions. As its marketing partner, Vendi has designed more than 80 performance logos along with billboards, brochures, the LCT website and other materials that promote the theatre. We creative types like to stick together.

The Center 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection

One of the values that Vendi deeply believes in is the right of every person to live with dignity and free of discrimination. We’re proud to have had a part in positioning The Center: 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection of La Crosse and Winona as a valuable community resource. We launched an awareness campaign that included brand strategy, logo design and identity that were supported with PR, traditional and social media, signage, web design and exhibits. The Center credits us with contributing significantly to its growth and stability.

The Parenting Place

Giving children the best start possible is the goal behind The Parenting Place. Vendi created a website for the organization where parents and other caregivers can search for child care and find programs and events to strengthen connections with the children in their lives. The web project was funded in part by Vendi Share. In addition to the website, Vendi helped The Parenting Place forge its identity with a logo, tagline, newsletter and brochure.

Great Rivers United Way

Numerous organizations in four counties near the Mississippi River benefit from the work of the Great Rivers United Way. Vendi supports the work of the agency as its web provider. 

International Owl Center

Whooo would have guessed that a hamlet of fewer than 1,000 people would be home to an international organization dedicated to protecting wild owls? As the International Owl Center plans a major expansion, Vendi is on board to help raise awareness of the work of the IOC. We have designed posters, brochures and vehicle wraps as part of our multi-year commitment.
